The North Eastern Police Academy (NEPA) is located in Umsaw, Meghalaya, along the Guwahati–Shillong Highway (NH 40). It is roughly 80 km from Guwahati Airport (2 to 2.5 hours drive) and about 15–20 km before Shillong city.
Because you arrive late at night (10:00 PM on 07th Sep) and need to reach NEPA by evening on 08th Sep, the best plan is to spend the night in Guwahati, explore the famous sights in the morning, and gradually travel south along the scenic highway toward Umsaw.

  • 10:00 PM: Land at Guwahati (CCU to GHY flight).
  • 10:45 PM: Rent a cab or self-drive vehicle at the airport and head straight to your hotel.
